The Army website addresses soldiers, especially those stationed on Fort Huachuca, not to travel within 50 miles of the border, "because of the increasing rate of violent, widespread crime in Mexico, most Soldiers are not allowed to travel to the borders of Mexico." In light of these advisories, it is crucial for travelers to stay informed and weigh the risks before deciding to travel to Mexico from Sierra Vista. It is always recommended to check the latest travel advisories and health notices before planning any international travel.
