Scalping has become a commonplace practice across the event community, and has irreparably ruined experiences for so many people.

Arizona's about to become a safe haven.

Scalping

Scalping is not a new phenomenon, starting all the way back in the early 19th century. The practice started when certain money hungry men realized that there was a golden opportunity to make money on demand instead of product. They would go to the box office for certain shows, and buy large quantities of tickets to resell at a higher price to the masses.

Technology has only made this practice more commonplace. With sites like Ticketmaster providing as many tickets as you want as long as you have the funds, scalpers can swoop in and create programs that scoops up as many tickets as possible that they then resell for hundreds or thousands of dollars more.

Arizona's Solution

House Bill 2040 and House Bill 2194 are both in the process of becoming law. These are in response to the scalping epidemic that has been sweeping the nation. 2040 makes it illegal for scalpers to create bots that grab hundreds of tickets for them, while 2194 focuses on regulating the resale market.

With the addition of these two bills, Arizona will become a haven of ticket sales where any event you want to go to has tickets priced accordingly and available. Events you want will soon be nothing more than a tap away, so make your list and save up some money, it's time to go and have fun.
