Alright, so Spring Break time for El Paso school’s is upon us and me and my son are set to be at the Houston Rodeo this coming Saturday. I’ve never been to a rodeo so I was excited for this to be my first one…. Until I started seeing the viral brawls happening there!

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is supposed to be a Texas-sized celebration of cowboy culture, deep-fried everything, and now… viral brawls?

Over the weekend, videos surfaced online showing rodeo-goers throwing hands instead of just tossing lasso ropes.

Fights Broke Out at the Houston Rodeo, and Social Media Had a Front-Row Seat

Clips circulating on social media captured multiple altercations breaking out at the event, featuring wild punches and chaotic scuffles.

While it’s unclear what sparked the fights, the footage definitely made its rounds, leaving people questioning just how rowdy the rodeo got this year.

Rodeo organizers aren’t taking any chances and are speaking out, assuring people that it’s safe, despite viral videos. Chris Boleman, CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, emphasized that guest safety is their "number one priority" and assured attendees that security measures have been heightened.

The event already collaborates with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as first responders and private security. And with spring break crowds expected to flood NRG Park, organizers are doubling down, working closely with Houston police to keep things under control.

Police haven’t identified anyone from the videos or confirmed if any arrests were made. But one thing is for sure—the Houston Rodeo is making it clear that safety is serious business.

Just in case, I’ll make sure to take my boxing gloves with me. Just kidding… kinda.
