The Andress Eagles are moving on to the Sweet16 after an impressive win over #4 Bel Air Tuesday night at the Don. Close to 10,000 fans watched the Eagles pour it on in the second half to win 58 – 44 and hand the Highlanders their first defeat of the season.

The fifth ranked Eagles will play Dunbar in the semifinals of the Region 1-5A Tournament on Friday night in Snyder, Texas.

From all I’ve read, the game lived up to its hype of “the biggest high school basketball game ever in El Paso,” and sports fans all agreed the only bad thing about the game was that one team would not advance further in the playoffs. For a more detailed account of the game, check out this article in The El Paso Times.
