We are breaking down a timeline for you today, February 11 on Khalid’s 22^nd celebrating his life and music career to date. It’s no secret that Khalid’s star continues to rise and shine acquiring a VMA Award, Billboard Music Award, three American Music Awards, 6-time Grammy nominee and so many more accolades throughout his musical career as his work ethic, dedication and hard work continues to pay off.

Here is a condensed timeline of Khalid’s rapid ascension to global superstar:

February 11, 1998

• Khalid is born in Fort Stewart, GA

1998 - 2015

• Khalid and his family bounce around Kentucky, New York, and Germany before his mother is finally transferred to Fort Bliss in El Paso

2015

• During his junior year of high school, Khalid’s family moves to El Paso, Texas and attends Americas High School and begins to write his debut album, American Teen

2016

• Khalid graduates from America’s High School and his single Location begins to chart

2017

• Khalid performs at Neon Desert Music Festival in El Paso, TX.
• Khalid begins collaborating with Alessia Cara, Logic and Kendrick Lamar and sells out every show during his Location Tour, including Tricky Falls in El Paso
• The first annual Christmas with Khalid initiative is initiated handing gifts to hundreds of children in elementary schools across El Paso, TX
• The album, American Teen is certified platinum selling over 1,000,000 in combined pure sales and album-equivalent units by the Recording Industry Association of America
• Khalid makes his television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performs Location

2018

• Khalid is presented with the key to the City in El Paso
• Khalid collaborates with Swae Lee, Lorde, SZA, Post Malone, Normani, Shawn Mendes, Halsey, Benny Blanco, Billie Eilish, Juice WRLD and Kane Brown
• Khalid releases his EP Suncity
• Khalid announces 915 Hometown Show in El Paso and sells out in under 10-minutes and a second show is added which also sells out

2019

• The single Talk is released
• Khalid makes his debut on Saturday Night Live on March 9, 2019
• His second studio album, Free Spirit is released
• On May 10^th Khalid launches The Great Khalid Foundation in El Paso a music and fine arts organization that helps underserved communities via music education programs, scholarship awards while fostering an atmosphere of encouragement and support
• Khalid makes history by becoming the first and only artist to occupy the entire top 5 of the Billboard R&B Songs chart
• The Free Spirit World Tour kicks off in North America, Europe, and Oceania.
• Khalid becomes the biggest global artist on Spotify, hitting 50.4 million monthly listeners on the streaming platform
• Khalid sells out A Night for Sun City, a benefit concert in El Paso for the families and the victims of the August 3^rd shootings at Walmart

2020

• Khalid kicks off the second leg of his Free Spirit World Tour in March
• Khalid will also be performing at the Firefly Festival and the Houston Rodeo
