How El Paso, TX Residents Can Prepare For Heavy Rain This Week

El Paso’s summer heatwave isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, but Mother Nature is going to give us somewhat of a break this week as rain is expected! 

According to the National Weather Service of El Paso, multiple rain showers are rolling into the Borderland over the next few days, and some areas could get 1 to 2 inches of rain. That’s enough to flood your driveway, your yard, and maybe your neighbor’s kiddie pool that’s been sitting outside the past few summers.

To help keep your home dry and drama-free, El Paso Water is handing out FREE sandbags—up to 10 per person to help locals prepare in case we get more rain than forecasted.

How To Get Free Sandbags In El Paso, Texas:

Getting sandbags is simple and absolutely free! If you would like to get free sandbags, just head over to any of the main pickup locations, show a Texas ID or your El Paso Water bill and you’re good to go. But heads up: each bag weighs 40–50 pounds, so make sure you are able to lift heavy, if not, bring someone who can help!

NOTE: Fred Wilson location is currently the only location open until July 7th when all other locations open up.
