Learn Wing Chun from Los Angeles Martial Artist with Bruce Lee Connection
The community is invited to experience the art of Wing Chun with an exciting in-person event where guests can learn from Master Phillip Redmond, a highly skilled practitioner of Wing Chun.
The in-person seminar will focus on forms and fighting applications. Whether guests are beginners or experienced martial artists, this seminar is a great opportunity to enhance guests skills and knowledge.
Participants will also be able to learn self-defense skills, breathing techniques and more. The event is open to both women and men of all ages.
Who Is Master Phillip Redmond
Sifu Redmond began his martial arts journey after serving in Vietnam, studying Shorin-Ryu karate in Okinawa. After his Marine Corps service, he moved to New York City in 1970, where he trained in Fu Jow Pai and Wing Chun under several esteemed instructors.
In 1983, he committed to Grandmaster Cheung's Wing Chun, becoming a sifu in 1991 and earning a provisional Master rank in 1994.
Master Redmond's dedication to martial arts extends beyond Wing Chun. He has trained in various disciplines, earning a black belt in Aiki-Jujitsu and Kobudo. He won his first full contact bout under the guidance of kickboxing champion Yoel Judah. In 1989, he founded the Yale University Wing Chun Kung Fu Club, where he taught until 1994.
Master Redmond later moved to Detroit and then Southern New Jersey, entrusting the Detroit school to Provisional Master Carmelino Guiao.
