There’s a cute new date spot in downtown El Paso and it’s giving off “Little Italy” vibes and I am here for it.

So, I’m all for loving yourself and taking yourself on solo dates, but for this specific date night I decided to add a plus one because the restaurant was too beautiful not to share the experience with someone else. (And he’s also great at taking photos so win/win.)

The restaurant in question is Ristorante Casanova. It’s fairly new and it took over the space where “Fire” Restaurant once was, right under the DoubleTree Hotel in Downtown El Paso.

The bright colored sign right outside of the restaurant immediately gives you “Little Italy” vibes with the red, green and white colored combo on the letters “Casanova.”

The second you walk in to the restaurant those “Little Italy” vibes become even more real with the dining room decor, live music and cocktail lounge that looks like something straight from the movies.

My server, Gilbert, won me over with his extremely polite manners but it was when he moonwalked his way to my table with two Espresso Martini’s in hand that I was convinced that he was the best server, ever. (I’m obsessed with Michael Jackson and love a good cocktail so yea, I was impressed!)

Speaking of Espresso Martini’s, I have only tried one when I took a trip to Las Vegas and I was not impressed with the drink at all!

I was nervous to try another Espresso Martini anywhere but the bartender assured me that he would change my mind with his take on the Espresso Martini and he did!

Those martini’s were dangerously delicious! (That’s a good kind of dangerous btw)

Now it’s time to get to the most important part of the night: The food.

Let me describe my meal in one simple word: DELICIOUS! I’m a meat lover but I tried one of their vegetarian options and I was beyond impressed. Chef Mullins outdid himself!

Menu items include a full menu of homemade Italian food that includes pizza, hand made pastas, salads, main courses and a wine list that represents the Napa meets Italy concept.
