If your Labor Day weekend plans include getting your drink on, you might want to consider inviting a designated driver along or the end result could be you cuffed and stuffed in the back of a police cruiser.

The El Paso Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety will be conducting a unified DWI and Traffic Enforcement operation from Friday, August 30, to Monday, September 2, according to a city press release.

Excessively celebrating outside city limits won't keep you from the long arm of the law, either, as the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is increasing its DWI patrols, too.

And while a DWI might be what finally gets you to start walking more or riding a bike to work, there are less expensive ways to get exercise. So before meeting up with your homies or girl squad and ordering a drink or ten, make sure you have a plan if instead of getting awesome you get drunk.
