El Paso Museum of Art Inviting Public to Vote on New Art for the Museum's Permanent Collection

The El Paso Museum of Art is inviting the public take part in it’s annual Holiday Members’ Choice which will vote on new art work being purchased by the museum to be part of the it’s permanent collection.

The Holiday Members’ Choice normally allows members to vote on the annual purchase of art for the El Paso Museum of Art’s permanent collection. This year the event will be open to both museum members and the general public. Museum visitors who are not yet members can purchase a membership that evening and be able to cast their vote for this year’s purchase.

This acquisition is made possible by a generous ongoing gift from the Robert and Mabel Lipscomb Foundation, a trust managed by JP Morgan Chase Bank. This year’s theme is the art of diverse and significant contemporary female American artists: Jenny Holzer, Carrie Mae Weems, Maria Martinez-Cañas, and Asya Reznikov. The winning artwork will be announced at 7 p.m.

The evening will also feature a festive holiday atmosphere and encourage attendees to give the gift of art this year. The museum will also host a Holiday Pop-Up Shop featuring El Paso Museum of Art teaching artists and local vendors. There will also be a photo booth and the museum store will be open throughout the event.
