A local high school student is getting an opportunity most people can only dream of! A.J. Cortez, a 15 year old Jefferson High School sophomore was personally invited to attend the presidential inauguration held today by the United States ambassador in Costa Rica.

A.J. wrote an essay two years ago about bullying and the Columbine shooting, gaining himself attention on a national scale. He received free trips to Boston, Austin, and Washington D.C., where his essay is now on display at the Museum of Congress.

Way to go A.J.!
