The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department along with Creative Kids will be dedicating a new, temporary mural on Saturday, December 10, on Missouri Avenue, behind the El Paso Museum of History.

On Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. the mural dedication will be held on the patio next to the Museum of History then proceed to the front of the mural for the ribbon cutting.

The temporary mural entitled “Gratitude to the Past, Responsibility to the Future” was designed by Creative Kids and completed with the help of El Paso youth artists who participate in their programs.

The temporary mural will serve as a visual welcome to the Downtown Arts District, showcasing the talent of local artists and richness of the arts district. This particular wall hosts a rotating mural program in which selected artists have their work on view for up to three years before another artist gets the opportunity.

The El Paso Downtown Arts District seeks to stimulate the artistic and cultural life of the region by providing a lively space for arts and cultural events. The El Paso Downtown Arts District is comprised of 16 museums, presenting venues, green-spaces, festival footprints, cultural organizations, historic facilities and tourist amenities within a 19-block footprint.
