
El Paso Lights the Star Purple for BTS After Fundraiser
The excitement over BTS in El Paso continues and this time it’s shining bright!
From sold-out shows to nonstop buzz across the city, BTS’s arrival has turned El Paso into a must-watch stop on their world tour.
And now, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks is joining the celebration. The Star on the Franklin Mountains is glowing purple all week long, a tribute to BTS and their loyal fanbase known as ARMY.

The purple light, symbolizing love, unity, and trust, can be seen across El Paso and even into Ciudad Juárez, making this moment feel even bigger for the entire region.
The effort behind the purple glow is just as powerful as the visual itself. What started as a fan idea quickly turned into a full-on community movement, proving once again that BTS fans don’t play when it comes to showing love.

A few months ago, we reported that a local BTS ARMY group had launched a fundraiser to light the Star purple during BTS weekend. Their goal was to raise $3,000 to cover the cost of lighting the Star for multiple nights and thanks to overwhelming support from the El Paso community, they made it happen.
That same group was recognized during Monday’s county commissioners court meeting, where their efforts were acknowledged as a meaningful way to celebrate both BTS and the city’s vibrant fan culture.

Now, it’s official: The Star shines purple this week. The official El Paso BTS ARMY group is lighting the Star on the Franklin Mountains from April 28 through May 4 in honor of BTS. And if there’s one thing this moment proves, it’s that El Paso shows up loud, proud, and full of love!
