August 3rd will mark six years since the tragic mass shooting at the Cielo Vista Walmart. It was one of the darkest days in El Paso’s history. It was a day filled with heartbreak, fear, and unimaginable loss for many in our community. But it was also a day that reminded the world just how strong El Paso is.

In the hours that followed the tragedy, El Pasoans did what they do best: they showed up. One of the most powerful examples was when dozens of people lined up to donate blood for the victims. No hesitation at all! They knew that victims were in need of blood so they stood in long lines to make sure they did their part to support the victims.

Now, six years later, that same spirit of compassion continues.

To honor the victims, the survivors, and the heroes of August 3rd, Vitalant is hosting a “Remember. Honor. Give.” community blood drive on August 2–3 at Cielo Vista Mall and the community is invited to donate blood PLUS all donors will receive a cool commemorative T-shirt.
