Take a drive through The San Elizario 2020 Drive-By Luminarias this weekend.

The annual lumenarias are back at San Elizario this year, in the form of a socially distanced, drive-thru event.

For one night only, the incandescent glow of the annual lumenarias at San Elizario will light up once again thanks to community partners and volunteers who came together to install over 3,000 traditional, Spanish-style lanterns laid out across historic buildings surrounding the San Elizario Presidio Chapel.

This year, the San Elizario Genealogy and Historical Society has adapted the annual event into a socially distant event providing the public a chance to enjoy the luminarias from the safety of their vehicles.

On arrival, vehicles will be allowed to pass through Placita gates and onto the square; to enjoy the one-of-a-kind sights and sounds of Christmas in historic San Elizario.
