GYLLENSWIFT -- IT'S OVER!: One of the most talked about celebrity couples of the last few months, TAYLOR SWIFT and JAKE GYLLENHAAL, are DONE!!!

A People magazine insider says it ended last month. There's no official word why, but "Us Weekly" claims it was Jake who walked. Their source tells them, quote, "(Jake)said he wasn't feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got. He also said he could feel the age difference." (-- F.Y.I, Jake is 30 and Taylor is 21.)

IS MEG RYAN A HUSBAND STEALER???!!!: People magazine is confirming that MEG RYAN and JOHN MELLENCAMP are indeed dating. They're saying the romance began "about seven weeks ago, and Mellencamp and his wife had been separated for some time before that."

TMZ posted this extremely unexciting video of them hanging out together in NYC yesterday.

ROMANCE REPORT: 1.) Two more celebs got engagement rings over the holidays. "View" co-host SHERRI SHEPHERD got engaged to TV writer Lamar Sally on December 26th, the same day VIVICA A. FOX, 46, accepted a proposal from club promoter Omar "Slim" White, 27.

Here's a picture of the happy couple. Can you tell she's had stuff done to her face?

2.) Turns out SHANIA TWAIN wasn't the only country singer who got married at a tropical location on New Year's Day. Former "American Idol" contestant KELLIE PICKLER and her songwriter boyfriend quietly eloped on January 1st.

Kellie's rep told "People" that they exchanged vows in a "small, intimate ceremony on a private island in the Caribbean." Tweeted Kelly yesterday: "Someone just called me "Mrs. Jacobs." . . . sounds nice :)"

DID LINDSAY ALREADY VIOLATE TERMS OF HER PROBATION???!!!: Palm Desert police say they want Lindsay charged with battery for her run-in with a Betty Ford staffer last month and that following an investigation they've concluded she "violated several aspects of her probation."

Of course, that's not their call. It's up to the local district attorney to decide. The judge has already said if Lindsay violates her probation or fails another drug test before her next court date on February 25th, he'll throw her in the slammer for up to SIX MONTHS. But, of course, the only way he's going to have to make a decision is if the district attorney decides to charge Lindsay with battery. If not, then it's a non-issue.

THE INCIDENT: The incident the cops are referring to actually occurred on December 12th, but the story didn't come out until a few days before Christmas, when TMZ broke the news.

What happend was Lindsay and two of her fellow patients snuck out of the clinic after curfew. Upon their return, they were confronted by security who called in a "chemical dependency technician" to administer drug and alcohol tests. Lindsay pitched a fit and refused to be tested, then threw her phone at Dawn, the technician.

A police report was filed, but Dawn ended up dropping the case, claiming she didn't want to see Lindsay prosecuted. Even though she dropped out of the case, the cops did not. They continued to investigate and concluded yesterday that Lindsay committed battery thus violating her probation.

WHO DAT???: Can you guess who the grey haired lady is? ...
