DC Punk Underground Photos & Anecdotes Exhibit in El Paso
Banned in DC Punk Underground Exhibit with Cynthia Connolly will benefit You Rock! El Paso’s girls' music camp.
Tonight, Thursday, November 14, Banned in DC Punk Underground Exhibit featuring Cynthia Connolly will be hosted at Eloise beginning at 7 p.m.
Cynthia Connolly is a photographer and graphic artist whose claim to fame began back in 1983 when one of her first works of commercial art was the cover art for Minor Threat's Out of Step 12’’ LP.
Connolly will present a slideshow followed by a Q&A and sign copies of her seminal book Banned in DC: Photos and Anecdotes from the DC Punk Underground (79-86).
A $10 donation at the door is suggested with proceeds going towards the Because of You Fund and the El Paso Community Foundation's You Rock! an inclusive girls’ music camp launching next summer in 2020. The rock camp will expose the youth in our community to a week of workshops by learning to play an instrument, collaborate with others, and write music all leading up to a public performance.
Books and letterpress postcard grab bags will also be available for sale after the show.
