Chingona Fest Aims to Empower Female Artists & Entrepreneurs
For those who say Latin culture isn't represented in the mainstream media, this festival is for you. Chingona Fest in Austin, Texas is an experience for those who want to see a change in our current pop culture. More Latin representation is still lacking in the mainstream, especially during these tense times with political discussions. Many people are inspired to create art, music, clothing and so much more to expand the different dimensions of Latin Culture into mainstream exposure.
The mission of Chingona Fest "is to inspire and empower Latinas through music, film, art, and community. We believe representation matters, so we intentionally curate a space filled with musicians, artists, speakers, and vendors that are predominantly women of color." Not only is Chingona Fest a positive way to spread female empowerment, some proceeds from the event to go back into the Austin community.
Austin, Texas continues to stay weird and stay strong helping empower their community and so does El Paso. We have so many amazing female organizations/entrepreneurs empowering each other like Latinitas, Hippie Girl Natural Products, Bomb Beauty Products, In Bloom, Moutstore and many, many more. Maybe we will see some El Paso women out there at Chingona Fest representing El Paso women.
