Celebrate Indian Tradition, Food, Music at Festival of Chariots in Downtown El Paso
Festival of Chariots, the colorful celebration of Indian culture, is returning to downtown El Paso in October.
The family-friendly event promises authentic Indian food, music, and theatrical performances, as well as yoga, meditation booths, and a parade of chariots.
Ratha Yaltra
The El Paso Festival of Chariots (Ratha Yatra) will take place Saturday, October 8, 2022 across the street from Hotel Indigo in the parking lot located at 401 East Main Street in Downtown El Paso.
The tradition of celebrating Ratha Yatra goes back thousands of years and is one of the most celebrated events in India and worldwide, according to the release
Entertainment options will range from theatrical performances to world-renowned kirtan musician Gaura Vani.
Attendees will be treated to a free vegetarian feast, and have the opportunity to participate in yoga and meditation, get Vedic Astrology readings, and henna and face paintings, too, per the event post.
In addition, traditional Indian goods will be available at the festival gift shop. Like last year, the festival will include a traditional Ratha Yatra parade.
