Camila Cabello Reveals Why She Won’t Kiss Shawn Mendes On Stage
Camila Cabello finally revealed the real reason she and Shawn Mendes don't kiss on stage.
The "Living Proof" singer, who just dropped her new Romance album, admitted she felt "weird" to display PDA with her boyfriend at the 2019 American Music Awards. As most fans know, the couple performed their hit "Senorita," but stopped short of locking lips. Instead, Cabello gave Mendes another "nose bump" like she did at the VMAs.
“We didn’t give to them," she told Extra before explaining the actual reason. "I actually just get shy, weirdly. I feel like I would kiss him in the dress rehearsal, but then we are onstage and then something stops me.”
However, Cabello did say she the Canadian crooner's presence is "really comforting."
“It’s really comforting and nice to have somebody on stage with you that loves you and has your back," she added. “It reminds you what’s really important, too, which is the love you have for each other and I don’t just mean that in a romantic way because I felt that way even when we were friends. It’s really nice, really special.”
Elsewhere in her interview, the pop star also discussed her upcoming role in Cinderella and how much she relates to the fairytale love story IRL. “Even working on it so far I’ve just been having so much fun. I literally grew up being such a drama geek," she explained. "I love anything to do with princesses and fairy tales, anyone who knows me, I want to live in that world so badly, I try to live in that world as much as I can.”
Cabello's Romance album is available now. She also recently announced a 26-date North American tour, which kicks off on July 29 in Vancouver, Canada. You can buy tickets and get more information here.
