The driver, 24-year-old Emilio Alex Clouser, of Las Cruces, is now facing 14 criminal charges after leading Border Patrol on a high speed chase that ended in a crash on NMSU property.

U.S. Border Patrol agents were involved in a high-speed chase and arrested 4 people within minutes after they crashed their vehicle on I-10 and driving onto Dona Ana Community College's Central Campus.

A fifth suspect remains at large during this time and Border Patrol and Las Cruces Police are asking for your help. The incident called for university officials to place Dona Ana Community College on lock down for about an hour beginning shortly after 9 a.m. A New Mexico State police officer was injured during the search for the suspects, but the officer’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

Update:  Emilio Alex Clouser, of Las Cruces, is now facing 14 criminal charges, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in Dona Ana County Magistrate Court.Clouser is charged with one count of aggravated fleeing a law enforcement officer, a fourth-degree felony, six counts of leaving the scene of an accident and two counts of child abuse, all third-degree felonies. He was smuggling 9 illegal persons at the time of the chase.
