Google Reveals the Exact Day to Score Cheap Thanksgiving Flights

A new travel report from Google says the best time to snag the lowest airfare deals for Thanksgiving is officially right now. Not later later, NOW!

According to Google’s data, ticket prices hit their lowest point about 35 days before you travel and since Thanksgiving is less than 40 days away, this week, October 20th, is your golden window to save some serious cash.

Don’t have the money to book a plane ticket yet?!

Don’t panic. You’ve got a little wiggle room. Prices usually stay pretty reasonable up until 24 days before takeoff, so you can procrastinate for another week or two, but don’t wait too long or you’ll be stuck with the middle seat.

While you're booking for Thanksgiving, Why not start planning for Christmas?!

While you’re hunting for Thanksgiving day tickets you might as well plan ahead for the holidays too because according to Google data the best time to book Christmas flights is 51 days before December 25, which lands right around November 1st. So yeah, your future self will thank you for getting that done early.

According to Google data, you should try to fly on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Midweek flights are about 13% cheaper than weekends. (Booking day doesn’t really matter, though. Sorry “cheap flight Tuesday” people.)
