Back To School Shopping Was the Best at These Old El Paso Locations
Back to school time is here! I haven't been in school in years and somehow back to school time is my favorite time of year- mainly because I love shopping for school supplies!
Something about buying some pens and planners and notebooks makes me feel like I have my life together. I also like that sometimes back to school time is near tax free weekend- and trust me, when I was younger and in school, that was the perfect time for us to go back to school shopping.
In honor of back to school time, I asked our Facebook followers where they liked to do their school shopping:
Some of the answers y'all gave were definitely some throwbacks!
Of course, the OG favorite place was Mervyn's!
I can't remember when exactly Mervyn's closed in El Paso, but this was my favorite place to go to!
Another favorite was JC Penney.
Most specifically, the JC Penney at Fox Plaza!
One of the OG favorites as well, KMart!
And, of course, if you wanted shoes, the most popular place to go was Payless!
As someone put it:
MERVYNS, Kmart, and Payless where the trifecta to get everything back to school!
Other favorites included going Downtown.
Downtown El Paso. Mom would take us for an all day shopping spree then go to Kress for lunch and banana splits.
And probably one of my favorite answers: the swap!
Where we could afford them best place was the swap with the knock offs don't act like your ass didn't do knock offs.
I can't deny, the swap has some good choices just like the Discount Mall had! You can check out more awesome answers here.
