Did you know that there are certain parking spots in downtown El Paso where you will get a ticket unless you back into the space?

The area is along Ochoa between Magoffin and San Antonio, next to Sen. Jose Rodriguez's office. If you park with your trunk facing the street, you will get a $55 ticket.

The City Transportation Director Ted Marquez said because Ochoa is a two-way street, drivers need to approach to the South. Marquez said backing in allows a safer exit forward, instead of backing out, and it is safer for people to have access to their trunk at the sidewalk, instead of the street.

The only other street in the city where it exists is also Downtown, at Oregon and Franklin.

Be warned, downtown drivers, so you won’t have to face a hefty ticket.
