Anti-Buzz Adams Bumper Stickers Spotted In West El Paso
I feel like my career has really hit an impressive milestone. I spotted bumper stickers in town that say, “Ditch Buzz Adams”. Then, below that, “El Paso Knows Better!”
The sticker was affixed to one of the sidewalk streetlamps that run down either side of Country Club Road. About a quarter of a mile down from the first one…ANOTHER one!
I want to point out that this wasn’t some spur-of-the-moment vandalism or graffiti. Someone PAID to have these made!
I don’t know who placed these stickers or if they’re the same person who had them made up…but I would like to address that individual right here and now:
THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH! This is the kind of viral marketing that I’ve often thought about doing but never had the gumption to do myself. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more honored in my life.
Every run-of-the-mill DJ since Marconi has PAID to have bumper stickers/billboards/bus bench ads promoting them. To get some random hater to do it for you at their own expense? Now THAT really means something.
I’m heartened to know that I can inspire that kind of emotion (negative though it is) in another person. The only problem is that these were the only two I’ve seen. Oh, I’m going to keep my eyes open for them, kind of like my own personal Toynbee tiles.
I would like to ask whoever had these stickers printed up a couple of questions. One, do you have any extra that I can buy from you? Two, if you do another run of these stickers in the future would it be possible for you to include the words, “Weekdays 6 to 10 on 95.5 KLAQ”? I would be willing to pay out of my pocket for any additional expense for the extra wording.

I don’t know if these are related, but in between the two Anti-Buzz stickers, I saw another one that had been slapped on a lamp post.
If you’re unfamiliar, that’s a sticker for Austin host/crackpot Alex Jones. Alex is currently on trial for harassing and spreading lies about (brace yourself) the parents of first graders who were killed in the Sandy Hook massacre in Newtown Connecticut.
If it turns out that the Anti-Buzz vandal is the same guy who is a fan of Alex Jones…if the guy who HATES me LOVES Alex Jones…well, that’s about the highest praise I could possibly imagine.
