Amanda Bynes has had so many issues lately that it's hard to remember where her mental problems end and her legal troubles begin. The erstwhile Nickelodeon starlet is still dealing with a DUI case from April 2012, and her lawyer, Rich Hutton, has deemed her unfit to stand trial.

Bynes was due in court yesterday (Sept. 24) for a hearing in her DUI case, but as anyone who's been paying attention knows, the starlet is currently in the UCLA psychiatric ward after starting a fire in a stranger's driveway.

What's more, Bynes is also under a temporary conservatorship, which grants control over most of her health and financial decisions to her mother, Lynn.

The conservatorship will be in effect until Sept. 27, Radar Online reports, at which point a judge will determine whether or not it should be permanent.

Radar Online also reports that the California Penal Code states that if "counsel informs the court that he or she believes the defendant is, or may be, mentally incompetent, the court shall order that the question of the defendant mental competence is to be determined in a hearing."

TMZ noted that the judge in Bynes' case has transferred the hearing to a mental health court, where another judge will conduct a hearing to determine whether or not she'll be able to stand trial. If not, Bynes' mother may hold the fate of the case in her own hands.

Bynes is currently undergoing long term treatment for what doctors suspect is schizophrenia. Here's wishing her a speedy and long term recovery.
