HERE IS TODAY’S “AM I THE JERK” SITUATION:

“My partner loves throwing big birthday parties for me, and this year I told her I did not want to have a party because I’m anti-social. However, I ended up letting her plan one but I told her to invite only our close family and friends. Her family is upset now because we didn’t let them invite their extended family. Am I a jerk for that?”

THE FINAL VERDICT IS....

The people of El Paso have agreed, pretty much unanimously, that this listener is in fact NOT A JERK! Why, because it’s his party and he can cry if he wants to!

READ A FEW CONVINCING COMMENTS BELOW:

"No. The partner and family needs to learn how to respect boundaries."
"This relationship isn't going to work. I'm antisocial and I could never be in a serious relationship with someone who liked to throw big parties. You two are always going to clash. Might as well walk away now and look for somebody more compatible."
"No. It’s your birthday and party, you can have who you want. Sounds like your wife’s family uses the parties to stay in touch with extended family and not celebrate you."

Do you agree with the verdict? Share your thoughts!
