A View From The Field For The 80th Annual Hyundai Sun Bowl

The 80^th Annual Sun Bowl was my first time ever experiencing a major college football game from the field.  My day literally started off with a bang when I found out the hard way how close I was standing to (and facing) the fireworks that are let off towards the end of the National Anthem.

After making sure I still had my eyebrows, I settled in quite nicely and enjoyed what turned out to be a wonderful experience.  UCLA and Virginia Tech put on a great show and it was as beautiful a day as I can remember.  The marching bands, cheerleaders and of course the football teams made for an unforgettable time.  I can’t wait to do it again next year.

A big thanks goes out to the Sun Bowl Association for granting me access to the field, Rave Marketing and Events for taking care of me at the Sun Bowl Sky Party, and Mando “the Monster” Medina from our sister stations, KLAQ and ESPN 600 for being my unofficial guide at the game.
