LIST: 5 Things Your Server Really Wants to Say to You (But Can’t!)
My first jobs in El Paso, Texas as a teenager were serving jobs. Being a server had its pros and oh did it also have a huge share of cons!
If you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know there are so many things that drive servers crazy—but they’ll never say it out loud because, well, tips.
Well, Buzzfeed went ahead and compiled a list of the top unspoken pet peeves every server wishes you knew. And now that you know… STOP DOING THEM!
5 Things Restaurant Servers Secretly Hate (But Will Never Say to Your Face)
1. Sitting at a Dirty Table
If a table is covered in plates and crumbs BUT has no guests seated, it’s not an invitation to go an find your seat! Give them a second to clean it up because there is nothing more akward than having to clean up the table while trying not to drop crumbs on you!
2. Choosing to Sit Outside…Then Complaining
It’s too hot, too cold, too windy, too buggy. You chose this life so live with it! And if you do sit outside, take a sweater with you just in case the weather starts to get cool.
3. Parents Who Let Their Kids Wreak Havoc
Tiny humans launching sugar packets across the table is not cute for servers who have to pick up the mess they leave!
4. No "Please" or "Thank You"
Basic human decency goes a long way. Simple manners seem to be difficult for some rude customers, but a simple please or thank you can go a long way!
5. Snapping or Whistling for Attention
Servers are not your dog. And snapping your fingers at them will probably make them want to get to you much slower just to upset you.
Do you agree with this list? What other pet peeves should be added?!
