5 Things about Paramore You Might Not Have Known
In honor of Paramore’s recently announced El Paso tour stop, here are five things you may not know about the pop-alt favs. The band will perform "an intimate evening of music" at the Abraham Chavez Theatre on Wednesday, May 20. The name "Paramore" came from the maiden name of the mother of one of their first bass players.
Williams was originally signed to Atlantic Records as a solo artist in 2003 when she was 14. The record company’s original plan was to turn her into a pop singer, but Hayley resisted, saying she wanted to play alternative rock music with a band.
When Paramore was officially formed in 2004; Hayley was only 15 years old. Co-founders Josh Farro and brother Zac were 17 and 14. The band currently consists of Williams, bassist Jeremy Davis, and guitarist Taylor York.
Hayley is featured in the 2008 video game Guitar Hero World Tour as a playable character. To unlock her, the player must complete Misery Business in Vocalist career.
Although she is known for her bright red hair, it is not Hayley’s natural color. She claims to not know what her original hair color even is.
