5 People Killed As Another Gunman Opens Fire in West Texas
Five people have been killed and at least 21 people have been injured as another shooter opens fire in the Odessa and Midland TX areas.
According to the Department of Public Safety, troopers were trying to pull over the shooting suspect due to a traffic violation. Instead, the suspect opened fire at the DPS patrol unit injuring one of the troopers. The shooter continued to randomly fire shots from his vehicle at innocent bystanders including an Odessa and Midland police officer.
The shooter who is being identified as a white male in his 30s soon after abandoned his vehicle and stole a mail truck. According to the Washington Post gunshots were exchanged between the shooter and police where then the suspect was shot and killed by police nearby a movie theater parking lot.
Five people have been killed and at least 21 others have been injured including three law enforcement officers. One of the injured has also been identified as a child under the age of two.
This horrific shooting comes on the heels of the mass shootings that occurred almost four weeks ago on August 3rd in El Paso, where the gunman killed 22 people.
