15 New Menu Items To Try While Cheering On EP Chihuahuas Or Locos

The El Paso Chihuahuas and the Locos return to Southwest University Park with a new season, surprises, and over 15 new menu items that will have your taste buds dancing while cheering them on to victory.

Last week I had the opportunity to check out what's new at Southwest University Park, including new LED stadium lights, promotions, and menu.

This year fans will notice the new Musco Stadium Light System, which reduces energy costs and can flash and change colors while choreographed to music. Other additions include the Week Promotions of Wine & 9 Wednesday with $4 single serve wines, half-priced wine bottles, a $9 rotating menu, and Sunday Funday Seltzers for $5 for each 12oz seltzer in assorted flavors.

While the Locomotive FC kicked off their season last week, the El Paso Chihuahuas will host their home opener tonight, Tuesday, April 12, beginning at 6:35 p.m.

El Paso fans are in for a treat as this season's menu will feature some familiar favorites, like the return of Carne Asada Fries. And new selections include Buffalo Tender Sandwich,  Lagarto Dog, and Chico's Eats & Treats will serve out soft-serve ice cream, giant cookie ice cream sandwiches, floats, and many more treats.

Also, this year, the doggie bowls have been replaced by promotional Chihuahuas helmets that kids will love.

Mac n Cheese Chicken or Pulled Pork Bowl - A hearty bowl of macaroni topped with either diced chicken or pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and topped with Chihua'rrrines crumbles.

BBQ Nacho Wings - Nachos topped with diced chicken, lettuce, jalapeno crema, BBQ sauce, and nacho cheese

Chuco Loco Fries - French fries smothered with chile con queso, bacon, green chile, Monterrey Jack cheese, and spicy ranch

Turkey Club Sandwich - Texas Toast with sliced turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, and tomato

Carnitas Patty Melt - Texas Toast with pork carnitas, provolone cheese, refried beans, salsa verde, lettuce, and tomato

Chile Relleno Burger - Beef patty, mozzarella cheese, Chile Relleno, spicy ranch dressing, lettuce, and tomato

Buffalo Tender Sandwich - Buffalo chicken tenders, lettuce, pickles, spicy ranch dressing all stacked on a hamburger bun

Carne Asada Patty Melt - Texas Toast filled with carne asada, Monterrey Jack cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce, and tomato.

Carne Asada Fries - French fries smothered with nacho cheese, carne asada, Monterrey Jack cheese, pico de gallo, jalapeno crema, and spicy ranch dressing

Chili Cheese Hot Cheetos - Hot Cheetos, nacho cheese, chili sauce, and jalapenos

Chili Cheese Hot Cheetos Dog - Hot dog topped with crumbled Hot Cheetos, shredded cheddar cheese, and chili sauce

Lagarto Dog - Bacon-wrapped hot dog topped with a Chile Relleno, pinto beans, spicy ranch, and guacamole
