The hate group known as the Westboro Baptist Church, notorious for picketing funerals of fallen soldiers, is threatening to picket Wednesday's memorial service for five Fort Bliss soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan. Although a news release dated May 9 claims the group will stage a protest from 12:15 - 1:00 p.m. it's not listed on the church's official Picket Schedule

But if they do show up, Fort Bliss spokesman Maj. Joe Buccino says they're ready for the chaos that may ensue. "At this point, no one in the community should have a concern about the planned protest...as this installation is well-equipped to deal with this protest without infringing on this somber occasion,"  he said in a statement, adding, "We will ensure that the memorial ceremony honors our fallen with the dignity and compassion they deserve."
