Never mind what you’d do to go to Western Playland, when you got there would you ride a roller coaster that goes just over 55 miles per hour? Because you’ll have a chance to starting in mid May.

For years, people have been asking Pat Thomson, President of Western Playland, for a faster coaster. So last fall he bought The Hurricane from the world-famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Northern California. Although similar in size the El Bandido, The Hurricane is much faster. According to Thomson, the ride will reach speeds of about 60 miles per hour and 4G’s around turns – or four times the force of Gravity.

Workers are currently in the process of putting the roller coaster back together at its new home in Sunland Park, New Mexico and hope to have it ready for El Paso speed freaks,  and thrill seekers by mid-May, at the latest.
