UTEP Holiday Closures

UTEP will be on a winter break schedule in observance of the holidays with regular hours and staffing resuming on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.

The Office of University Communications will have limited staff on Monday, Dec. 29; Tuesday, Dec. 30; Wednesday, Dec. 31; and Friday, Jan. 2. For inquiries, please call 915-747-5526.

The campus, including University Communications, will be completely closed Wednesday, Dec. 24; Thursday, Dec. 25; Friday, Dec. 26; and Thursday, Jan. 1.

Beginning Friday, Dec. 26 through Thursday, Jan. 1, the campus will undergo a power upgrade and will be closed to the public.

UTEP has been working closely with the El Paso Electric Co. to upgrade critical infrastructure feeding electricity to the campus. To ensure the safety of the personnel completing this work, the entire system will need to be powered down during the connection of new electrical lines and the installation of an automatic transfer switch.

The upgrade will not affect the Sun Bowl game on Dec. 27 or the men’s and women’s basketball games on Dec. 28 and 30 in the Don Haskins Center.

Sun Bowl Stadium and the Haskins Center will be fully powered on those dates, as will the Sun Bowl Parking Garage.
