Two-way Traffic Switches On Montwood Drive

Beginning today two-way traffic on Montwood Drive from McRae Boulevard to Wedgewood Drive will be switched from the northern lanes to the newly constructed southern lanes.

Two-way traffic will remain in the northern lanes of Montwood Drive between Wedgewood and Yarbrough Drive.

The work is necessary to fully reconstruct the roadway, add new sidewalks, and install new ramps which comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Additionally, the city is installing new box culverts under the roadway to alleviate persistent flooding in the area.

The following streets will be temporarily closed at Montwood: Fir Drive, Trinidad Drive, Honolulu Drive, Monaco Drive, and Camwood Drive.

The 24-month project is expected to be completed by the end of 2014 and cost $11 million.
