‘The Nutcracker’ Ballet - El Paso Youth Ballet’s 34th annual presentation of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet. UTEP’s Magoffin Auditorium. 747-5234, 760-6062

SATURDAY:

San Jacinto Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting - The annual tree lighting tradition of the plaza’s Christmas tree and displays. The festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. at San Jacinto Plaza downtown. The lighting of the Christmas tree will be at 5:55 p.m. followed by the 15th annual lighted Christmas parade. More Details + Parade Route

El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra ‘A Holiday Afternoon Concert’ - El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra hosts its annual family concert of traditional holiday music at 2 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre. Proceeds provide college scholarships for local high school students. 532-3776 or 566-4066

SATURDAY - SUNDAY:

Holiday Movies at the Plaza - The fifth annual event at the Plaza Theatre opens with "Home Alone" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.  "Miracle on 34th Street", "A Christmas Story" and "It's a Wonderful Life" on Sunday. $5. More Details

SUNDAY:

Ardovino’s Desert Crossing Holiday Market - Ardovino’s Desert Crossing will host its 8th annual market 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Sunset Hall. This year’s market is their largest ever, with more than 70 vendors from the Farmers’ Market and guest artisans selling a variety of handmade gifts and crafts. Admission is free; brunch/dinner cost varies. More Details

German Advent Bazaar - The Christkindlmarkt, sponsored by the German Air Force charity organization Aid for the Needy, will be from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the German Community Center Building 5095, Robert E. Lee Road on Fort Bliss. Admission is free. 568-0259, 568-4824
