Calling all actors, the Vagina Monologues will be holding auditions for the annual V-Day El Paso production on February 15th.

The mid-'90s play was written by Eve Ensler beginning with a run Off Broadway that has since been staged internationally including a televised version on HBO and has previously cast several celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Kerry Washington and Jennifer Beals.

The show introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it."

In 1998, Ensler launched V-Day, a global non-profit movement that has raised millions for organizations working to end violence against women.

V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against all women and young girls.

V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery.

One hundred percent of the El Paso proceeds will be donated to the YWCA Paso del Norte Region, Center Against Family Violence and Sexual Trauma and Assault Response Services.
