The El Paso Zoological Society’s (EPZS) signature fundraiser, “Safari Nights 2014 - The Top of the Food Chain Feast,” will be held on tomorrow, May 30, 2014 at the El Paso Zoo beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This unique feast at the El Paso Zoo offers samplings of a variety of delectable food from El Paso’s top restaurants as guests stroll the grounds. Sixteen local restaurants will be in attendance and a craft beer and food pairing room will be available.

Live entertainment will include: African drummers and dancers, The Patambores; stilt walkers and light dancers, Oddlab; and music groups Amalia Trio and Radio La Chusma. Attendees will also enjoy special animal presentations throughout the evening and will be able to visit Zoo animals on exhibit.

Through the EPZS, this gala helps fund projects at the Zoo such as education and conservation programs, state of the art animal care technology, animal enrichment, landscaping, capital improvements and more.

The Zoo’s Palm Oil Guide & Scanner Mobile Application and mobile x-ray machine are just a few examples of technologies that were added at the Zoo through the generous community support of the gala.

The Society’s goal is to raise $150,000 this year. In addition, the Gala serves as a kick off to the Zoo Society’s car giveaway. Through a donation from Hyundai of El Paso, the Zoo will be raffling a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. Tickets to the raffle will be sold by the Zoo Society from May 30 through December 27 with the drawing taking place at this year’s Sun Bowl.

Safari Nights is an adult only event and tickets must be purchased through the El Paso Zoological Society beforehand or at the door.

Tickets are $125 per person and include food, drinks and entertainment. Doors open at 6:30pm. For more information, call (915) 532-8156.
