Chico's Tacos has been in the Chelsea area of Central El Paso for over 40 years, but it's going to be torn down to make way for a Walmart Neighborhood Market grocery store. Damn you "progress"!!!!!
Chico's Tacos is an El Paso institution. There is no substitute for their rolled tacos in sauce, covered with their one of a kind shredded cheese. Texas Monthly, the magazine bible of the Lone Star State, gets a little sauce on it's chin with an ode to the best known restaurant in the city.
Three years ago, the city erupted in controversy when a group of gay men were kicked out of Chico's Tacos for, and here's where things get murky, either kissing and causing a scene, or kissing and not offending anyone. Three years later, one of the men has settled his part of the case.
