Women with big rear ends are smarter and healthier than their boney butt counterparts, as a new study shows that all that pushin’ cushion actually protects against diabetes and heart disease, as well as promotes well-developed brain function.

Researchers from the University of Oxford say they have discovered that women with big booty’s are more intelligent and less susceptible to chronic illness, which cosigns for other recent studies that suggest women with thicker backsides have a protective force field.

Professor Konstantinos Manolopoulos, lead researcher at the University of Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism, says that “pear shaped” women are healthier than those with “apple shaped” physics because they can ward off nasty illnesses like diabetes and heart disease.

The reason, according to Professor Manolopoulos, is that women with bigger butts appear to have lower cholesterol and the ability to produce hormones and process sugar. In addition, fat bottom girls typically have a reservoir of Omega 3 fats, which increases brain development.

“This protective effect is independent of weight. However, if you put on weight, thigh circumference will increase but your waist circumference will also increase, which over-rides the protective effect,” said Professor Manolopoulos.

Yet, it is important to understand that not all fat is beneficial: stomach fat, for example, spreads fat throughout the body, while the fat in a woman’s rear end has a tendency to be more firm and does not typically affect other areas.

“Control of body weight is still the best way to stay healthy, and the advice remains the same: it is important to eat less and exercise more,” warns Professor Konstantinos Manolopoulos.

In other words: as long as you are happy and healthy, “fat bottomed girls you make the rocking world go round.”
