A large power plant in northwest New Mexico was evacuated on Monday after three suspicious devices were found nearby. The suspicious devices were removed to an isolated area and they were destroyed.

The officials determined the devices were not explosives or a threat to plant personnel or operations. The placement of the devices comes a day after explosions in a mailbox and trash receptacle outside two churches in the southern part of the state, a few hours drive away, though no injuries were reported. The investigators were working to determine whether the two incidents were linked.
