Stray bullets from across the border have been known to strike City Hall in Downtown El Paso from time to time, but on April 14, you will have the opportunity to watch the whole rotten establishment come crashing down while basking in the lush amenities of a three-star thunderdome.

In the spirit of the Mexican Revolution, when El Pasoans climbed on the roof tops, got hammered drunk and watched the gun fights from across the way, the Doubletree El Paso has decided to make the demolition of City Hall a riotous, but safe event by offering a “Dreams to Reality” package.

In a recent advertisement, the Doubletree announced that, “For safety and security reasons, the hotel management has chosen to plan a memorable party to share the experience in the comfort and beauty of El Paso’s premier hotel. Doubletree El Paso is sponsoring a once in a lifetime ‘Implosion Party.’”

Doubletree El Paso says that a limited number of guests will be permitted inside the hotel from Saturday, April 13 at midnight until noon on Sunday, April 14. All rooms that are part of the demolition package hold up to four guests and can be reserved for $300 per night. Incidentally, these rooms face City Hall for a front row seat to the destruction scheduled to take place first thing Sunday morning at 9am.

The demolition package also includes a continental breakfast, and for a little extra cash, guests can add a five-course dinner either the night before or after City Hall meets its demise.
