I-10 West Will Close Down For 11 Nights Beginning This Weekend

You thought driving on the west side couldn’t get any worse?

Guess again.

I-10 West will be completely closed between the Mesa exit ramp and the westbound Mesa entrance ramp, while traffic on I-10 East will be reduced to one lane and things will be like that for 11 nights beginning this weekend.

Construction crews will be working on rebuilding the I-10 overpass at North Mesa. The roads will be open during the day.

Beginning on Sunday night at 9 o’clock I-10 West will be completely closed between the Mesa exit ramp and the westbound Mesa entrance ramp, while traffic on I-10 East will be reduced to one lane between the Mesa exit ramp and the Mesa entrance ramp. Mesa will be completely closed between North and South Desert Boulevard.

The road closures are expected to go from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning this Sunday and running through Thursday of next week. It will happen again from December 11 through December 15 and on December 18.

TxDOT does not do major road closures on weekends as a safety measure. Of course if the weather gets bad, it might delay things.
