Do You Block Intersections When You’re Driving? It Could Cost You $500 If You Do

I have places to go and things to do, especially this time of year, but the way you people insist on driving drives me crazy and there is only one thing I can do about it. I am going to block this intersection and all you inconsiderate drivers and you’re just going to have to wait until the next light to continue on your way.

EPPD says they know west side traffic is a nightmare, but if they catch you in an intersection after your traffic light turns red and you’re blocking other drivers who have a green light, you could get a $500 ticket. It’s not just Santa whose watching what you do this time of year – officers are out in force trying to make sure traffic flows as smoothly as possible.

ABC-7 caught a couple of drivers, and even a fire truck blocking the box on Mesa. If you’re one of those drivers, EPPD says consider this your warning because they will be whipping out a ticket for you if they roll up on you blocking the box.
