In case you hadn’t noticed, we live in a desert. That means water is precious, and at this time of year, using it to water your yard comes with restrictions. Beginning tomorrow, you’ll have to follow the watering schedule set down by El Paso Water Utilities.

From April 1 through September 30, outdoor watering can only be done before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. on your designated days.

If your address is even-numbered, your watering days are Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays. If you have an odd-numbered address, you can water on Wednesdays, Fridays or Sundays.

You cannot water at all outside on Mondays.

If you don’t follow your watering schedule, you could be fined up to $500. If you want to report someone who is a water waster, you can call 594-5500, or go to epwu.org and click the “conservation” tab.
