Now, to be fair, Disney wanted to trademark items that they would be selling in connection with an animated movie that they are going to be releasing through Pixar.  They were going to use the 'Dia de los Muertos' name on products like clothing, food, backpacks, etc., and even applied for a trademark of 'Dia de los Muertos'.

But, Disney just released a statement yesterday saying:

"As we have previously announced, Disney-Pixar is developing an animated feature inspired by the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos. Disney’s trademark filing was intended to protect any potential title for our film and related activities. It has since been determined that the title of the film will change and therefore we are withdrawing our trademark filing.”"

So what do you think about Disney's trying to trademark 'Dia de los Muertos'?
