The suspect in an early Sunday morning Downtown nightclub shooting is in police custody at an area hospital. Police say the 23 year old man who had been kicked out of Club Khaos, 115 S. Durango, in the Union Plaza District, returned to the scene with a handgun and fired several times at the entrance, wounding five people. An unknown individual inside the club fired back at the suspect wounding him in the leg.

The first shooter was apprehended after he drove himself to the hospital, where he remains in police custody. His identity will not be released until he is formally charged after his release from the hospital.

The victims all received what are described as "non-life-threatening injuries" and are all said to be in stable condition. Their names have not been released either.

As for the individual who shot back at the shooter, investigators believe this person acted in self-defense. They are asking him or her to come forward and answer questions about the incident.
