Chapin High School Attempts to Break Guinness World Record With 5k Run
JROTC Cadets and alumni at Chapin High School are coming together to attempt to break the Guinness World Record with 5k run.
Chapin High School is celebrating their 99th Anniversary of JROTC and will be celebrating with a 5k run to commemorate the event.
They are also planning on breaking the Guinness World Record for most participants in a 5K run (multi-location), in which the run would have participants from around the world start and run simultaneously.
Registration is open now and the public is encouraged to participate to support JROTC and help the Cadets break the world record including, JROTC/ROTC alumni of all ages, or to even help with the event either as a participant or a volunteer.

JROTC stands for Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps. It is a military structured high school program whose purpose is to educate high school students in leadership roles while making them aware of the benefits of active citizenship. The JROTC curriculum emphasizes academics, citizenship, character development, leadership development, physical fitness and community service.
