According to El Paso Inc Magazine, Amazon is planning on building it's first fulfillment center in El Paso.   The rumors are coming from El Pas contractors who claim they've heard that bidding on the project has began. City leaders have stated that they have not heard of such a project.  Amazon also has not confirmed the story.

El Paso Inc is reporting that Amazon will build a four story, 2.8 million foot facility on 85 acres of land. The project is being built in far east El Paso around I-10 and Eastlake Blvd.

Recently, UTEP had offered some of their land around the old Ascarco plant to get Amazon to build their new headquarters 2 here. That offer fell though. Eventually HQ2 went to Arlington, Virginia. While El Paso didn't get HQ2, getting a fulfillment center is a huge deal. Those centers bring many jobs with them. If the rumors are true, Amazon could bring as many as 3,000 jobs to the Sun City.
